It signifies a transition from a culture built around and promoting the privilege of being white to one that equally recognizes, the importance of the power of black bodies’ creative energy, transformative power, and skill to solve problems and dismantle oppressive systems that do not do the same.
Designing From Whiteness to Oneness™ is a curriculum to help learners understand, critically cosmically, and consciously connect and engage in dialogue, through presentations, storytelling, bringing greater awareness to the five senses, including developing the third eye, using KOS (Knowledge of Self) tools, and framework to create a dialogical process of learning and knowing that motivates and reinforces truth for transformation. Our goal is to empower black communities to solve all problems through the discovery and deep discussion of how things came to be, in terms of Anti-Black structures in place, which we as black bodies contribute to and sustain, the oppressor and oppressed model, which continually dehumanizes and impedes progress and leaves black communities incomplete and destructive, without sufficient support or a seat at the table. This is done by incorporating this curriculum into all of our programmings. We teach this curriculum through workshops, retreats, yoga sessions, healing sessions and our environmental programs.
Whiteness then represents the anti-thesis caste system we find ourselves in. And Blackness represents the undesirable recipient of injustice, exploitation, and imposed historical opposite. Though historically, castes have been employed throughout the world, where colonialists have imposed themselves, it’s the anti-black dialogue that has prompted civil rights movements on the dehumanizing experiences of Blacks, to this day. And the way oppression works is such that the oppressed internalize their position and by way of historical structures in place, eventually strive to become an oppressor, by freeing only themselves, in an oppressive system, to then, oppress others, creating an unending cycle, that only Blacks can lead with proper support, though they too are guilty of oppressing and participating in a role whiteness. Through this critical discovery, the oppressed and oppressor become aware these are manifestations of dehumanization and illness on a global scale.
This is why, “Africa Must Unite”, and until such day, our efforts may prove futile.
This exploration entails understanding and analysis of the oppressed and these structures in place, rebuilding solidarity, and dismantling and developing a new culture. By increasing our role in holding leaders accountable, developing initiatives, gaining influence and power, and reinforcing change by implementing practices to support these efforts, we can transform. We explore topics of knowledge of self and Earth, the study of oppressed and oppressor, history and culture, socialization and political power, and leadership, influence, and accountability. These materials are the foundation of the organization.
This Oneness then can be demonstrated by those in solidarity with highly melanated black bodies but must come from the oppressed themselves. True generosity consists precisely in fighting to destroy the causes which nourish false generosity. False generosity constrains the fearful and subdued to extend their hands. “True generosity lies in striving so that these hands need to be extended less in supplication so that more and more they become human hands which work and working, transform the world.”
We establish partnerships with community leaders, businesses, and schools so that we have a better view of the needs and resources available and build capacity through research and organizing. We engage youth, young people, educators, and scholars to actively engage in conversations on issues that begin to plant seeds of change.
We offer this curriculum in the form of healing sessions, workshops, retreats, tours, program consultation, and development with partners. It can also be offered as independent learning in four 20-minute online modules. The purpose of this curriculum is to instill participants with urgency and know-how to attune to higher frequencies via ancient Ancestral applied knowledge, to affect change in their own communities, by utilizing our framework and tools.
All lessons can be reinforced by virtual sessions hosted by an expert facilitator, by providing content on structures that need dismantling, a process of change that must take place if we are to change the status quo and make America accountable for its past and present and continued destructive future. This curriculum is essential if we are to preserve a future built on a framework that supports truth, preserves ancient Ancestral knowledge and the complete human experience. That’s why we’ve designed this curriculum.
Therefore, “it is the task of the oppressed to liberate themselves and their oppressors as well. The oppressors, who oppress, by virtue of their power, cannot find in this power the strength to liberate either the oppressed or themselves”. That is why this year is so important in holding everyone accountable because any attempt to “soften” the power of the oppressor in deference to the weakness of the oppressed almost always manifests itself in the form of false generosity. In order to have the continued opportunity to express their “generosity,” the oppressors must perpetuate injustice as well. An unjust social order is the permanent fount of this “generosity” which is nourished by illness, conflict, and poverty. “That is why the dispensers of false generosity become desperate at the slightest threat to its source.” Hence, the moment you aren’t alert and in tune to truth, through our educative tools, injustices tend to repeat themselves over and over, keeping us all on the Cycle of Socialization, preventing us from ascending.
The curriculum is designed to reach the parents, community leaders, and local businesses to keep them abreast of the developmental needs of everyone in our community in order to construct viable partnerships to address the needs. These community leaders will then create opportunities to cater to the changes within the community to keep the relationships in balance.
Ascendtials needs to engage these parents and other local leaders in order to build social competency that will bridge the gap to protect our children, better prepare them with opportunities within the community that develops and reinforce the necessary skills, to improve social relations at home and in the community. Leadership groups will need to be formed in school and link directly to the community. Everyone in the community will be included and held accountable for their role in the community.
Currently, we’ve been hosting healing sessions that pull from this curriculum and we will continue to discuss these topics to express our desire that everyone engage in critical consciousness in their role in accountability and community care through the use of our educative tools.
