Kemetic Yoga is an ancient yoga technique originating from Kemet (modern-day Egypt). This art form has a deep-rooted connection with the history and culture of Africa and its people. The BIPOC community practices yoga to honor our ancestors. It is a way to preserve their contributions and share the truth about yoga’s origins. Its African roots are not well known.
Through Kemetic Yoga, our ancestors connected with themselves. They found their place in the universe. This wisdom brought them health, wealth, and harmony. Today, practicing Kemetic Yoga can help find the roots of its wisdom. It can discard false historical ideas, take a holistic view, and connect with the all-powerful. These sessions use our From Whiteness to Oneness™ and KOS-Melanin-ology™ curricula. They also apply the five Maat (truth) principles. Now is the time to remember who you are.
Private sessions use Kemetic geometric poses, movements, postures, and ancient ancestral knowledge. These are all designed to bring calmness, alignment, and Oneness. These sessions may include sound healing, breathing, mantras, mudras, and silent meditation. They will use the guided “rule of four” for breathing.
Youth can enjoy the practice which will aid them on the journey to Self Knowledge. We must give our kids the right tools. Our ancestors created a holistic system. It helps kids find their Melanin and their purpose. Our Build My Spirit sessions are for youth ages 5-17.
