Background Check Policy

ASCENDtials is committed to creating a safe and secure workplace for our employees and customers. To achieve this goal, we require background checks for all job applicants.

Our background check policy complies with state and federal laws, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and various anti-discrimination laws. The policy directs managers and human resources departments to give proper notice to job applicants and use background checks consistently.

All job applicants must fill out a sample authorization form to consent to a background check. The authorization form clearly explains what information will be gathered, who will access it, and how it will be used. The candidate will also be informed of their rights under the FCRA, including their right to dispute inaccurate information.

The background check policy can exist as a standalone policy or be included in our employee handbook.
