Program Overview

ASCENDtials provides a structured, educational, and community-centered pathway for individuals completing court-ordered community service hours. This program supports personal growth, environmental stewardship, and community accountability while offering courts and partner agencies a reliable, transparent service option.

Participants engage in meaningful work featuring a trauma-informed, culturally rooted curriculum that supports our mission to empower communities through education, sustainability, and civic engagement.

This program requires completion of an intake process before service begins.

ASCENDtials Community Service

Ideal Participants & Eligibility

ASCENDtials accepts individuals with non-violent, low-level offenses. Our program is highly ideal for: Youth on probation, adults needing community service hours, diversion program participants, school-based referrals, and individuals needing structured, supervised hours.

Accepted Cases:
  • Traffic violations
  • Infractions
  • Misdemeanors (non-violent)
  • Failure to appear (case dependent)
  • Other low-level offenses as approved
Not Accepted:
  • Violent offenses
  • Sexual offenses
  • Arson
  • Crimes involving weapons
  • Any offense deemed incompatible with our safety standards

Service Opportunities & Activities

Participants may complete hours through various hands-on community tracks.
Assignments depend on availability, skill level, and program needs.

Program Requirements

Participants must:

  • Complete the intake form and provide required documentation
  • Pay the onboarding donation (or request a waiver)
  • Attend orientation
  • Follow ASCENDtials' Code of Conduct
  • Track hours through the approved system
  • Participate in weekly check-ins
  • Communicate schedule changes promptly
  • Complete all assigned tasks responsibly and respectfully
Verification & Reporting ASCENDtials provides verified community service hours, certificates of completion, attendance records, and direct communication with courts or probation officers upon request. All hours must be logged through the designated tracking system to be counted.

Partner Organization Info

Courts, probation departments, attorneys, and social service agencies may refer clients to ASCENDtials for community service completion.

A $45 onboarding donation supports administrative processing. Waivers are available.

Orientation

Participants receive training on safety, expectations, and available service opportunities.

Begin Service

Once approved, participants may sign up for shifts through the volunteer portal.
