Tuning In: Learning to Thrive
Thriving is not merely surviving. Here at ASCENDtials, we value our ability to recognize the importance of adapting principles, so we can be properly guided on this journey that we call life.
Whether we like it or not, our actions have consequences.. If we were to indulge ourselves with something like a favorite food, our minds and bodies would only be left with that brief feeling of satisfaction (or fulfillment?). Whereas participation in meditative practices, such as Kemetic Yoga, leaves one with long-term benefits such as increased calmness and an improved circulation of blood.
. To thrive, it is up to us to protect our sense of harmony from our own consequences. Take a look outside. Nature is our greatest teacher in finding our inner balance. The sun and moon, for example, provide a balance between night and day. If one of these natural elements is unstable, it will cause the entire earth to shift and suffer.. Like the earth, we too will suffer if our harmony is disrupted.
Disregarding restraint and order for the sake of immediate gratification will not give us the balance we seek—instead it will bring the opposite. One must work toward becoming familiar with the natural systems already in place to successfully thrive.
To thrive is to be in tune: you cannot take others’ words as the truth without being aware of how things work in reality.
If you follow these guidelines, if you find your balance, you too can thrive at life.
